About MacIntyre
MacIntyre is a national charity which supports children, young people and adults with learning disabilities.
We were founded in 1966 by Kenneth Newton-Wright, a parent of a disabled child. A parent who believed that we are all born equal, deserve respect and have a right to learn and develop.
That belief is a part of what we call MacIntyre's DNA.
We believe that the quality of our work is in the hands of our frontline staff, so we put a lot of stress on recruitment and training. In 2010 we were awarded two Skills for Care Accolades:
- Most innovative workforce development practice in a specialist service
- Winner of Winners

Solutions for families

To help you make plans for the future and take care of all members of the family, MacIntyre developed Family Footings.
